Pirates at the Point

“Pirates at the Point” was my favorite Gardens Monday night theme activity. They started with face painting, then we went to play treasure toss and bail out the boat game, next was walking the plank and Ship Battle (both awesome ideas), then we went on a treasure hunt and last we made hats. We were worried it would be cancelled because it was raining all day, but it let up to a little drizzle here and there and ended up being perfect.

It was so weird telling Ethan to hit her. He was quite the gentleman.




It is not always easy getting the perfect picture…



but when you get it, it is worth every bribe you made.

24th of July "Foam Day"

For the 24th of July (Pioneer Day) we went to Lehi’s “Foam Day”. It was tons of fun and had tons of free things to do which we loved. The only thing we paid for was the dunking booth which was the rotary club’s fund raiser, and it was totally worth it.


While the boys were waiting in their different lines the rotary club guys were getting Conner all pumped up to dunk Bryant. Then they kept saying things like “What did you do to him, he is really wanting to get you.” to Bryant. The boys were even talking trash to each other, they were being so funny. They told Conner if he didn’t hit it with a ball to run up and hit the dunking target. I almost had a perfect picture, but the guy walked right in front.



The fire department brought some fire trucks and sprayed foam everywhere. It was awesome. I wish James and I would have come more prepared. The boys were unsure about it, but ended up liking it, all except Ethan he did not like it at all. Conner took off his goggles and got soap in his eyes, and Bryant took his new birthday goggles off and lost them (they were nice too). At the end they had a spot where they sprayed the kids off with a fire truck. Then off we went to get free watermelon. It was a great day.

"Get Messy" Did someone say JELL-O FIGHT!

Monday night at the Gardens had a “Get Messy” theme. They did paper mache, digging in sod dust, eat popsicles without hands, finger painting and a JELL-O Fight. It was Awesome!



I put my kids in trash bags which ended up being a Great idea. I had so many people say “That is such a good idea.” I thought there would be more, but it was just my kids with them on. I bet next year other kids will be wearing them. With the trash bags on it was easy to spot the kids too.
During the activities the people running it would call my kids the trash bag kids, I think they thought I didn’t like it because they said sorry, but I thought it was funny.

Day at the Zoo

We were invited to our friend and cousin Jesse Frost’s birthday party at the zoo. He had never been to the zoo so his wife Becca gave him a party there. We later found out that James’ other cousin Daniel was getting married at “This is the Place Heritage Park” just across from the zoo at the same time, so we decided to go to both. We decided to get a zoo pass because if we went at least 3 times this year it would be worth it, and it has been. They do special member events and that day just happened to be the zoo opens early (7:00 am) for members, so we woke up way early to get there in time. We got to watch some of the animals eat but it wasn’t that great. We later met up with Becca and Jesse and went on the train (our present to Jesse:) and went to a few exhibits with them. Then we had to go to the wedding. Jesse and Becca were kind enough to watch our boys while we went to the wedding, and then we went and got them for the wedding dinner, it worked out pretty good, I just wish we would have been able to do Jesse’s actual party :(. After words we did the bird show (totally awesome, and worth it). By the time we left our boys had spent 10 hours at the zoo, we were ready to go.
