First let me tell you a little about each bunny, then I will tell you what happened. The female lop is named Lops (supper creative I know). I let her out of the cage about 4 days ago and we can't catch her, but I don't mind because she stays in the yard under or by the shed. Now I have decided not to catch her just to tame her a little by feeding her and petting her if I ever get close enough. She is really cute and fun to watch hop around.
The Rex bunny was named Bunny by Conner and then out of no where he said he wanted to name her Roxy which I like (either way it seems to be a show girl name:). Roxy Rabbit is supper soft and sweet. She is good to let you hold her and likes it under the shed too, the difference is you can catch her.
Hopper was Bryant's rabbit and by far the best. He would let you just cradle him like a baby and hold him forever. Bryant would be outside holding him and talking to him, and swinging with him. Every time I saw Bryant with Hopper I would think 'that is so cute, I need to get a picture, maybe tomorrow.' So I didn't get many pictures of them together, just the one's from Ethan's birthday.
Bryant wrote this at school. His teacher said he looked everywhere for the rabbit stamp, silly wabbit.
My rabbit likes me. My rabbit lets me hold him.

Last week we had Conner's pre-school come visit the rabbits, and then three more of Lana Latham's classes. I took Hopper into show-and-tell for Bryant. He was soooo happy to show off his rabbit, and all the kids loved him. Bryant had the funniest look on his face like he was way happy but didn't want anyone to know so he was trying to contain it, play it cool.
Well now it is time to tell what happened to poor Hopper. Bryant was outside playing with him and was just walking around holding him so I went to fold some laundry. A little while latter I hear Bryant say "Mom, Mom come look." When I got there he said, "look at my rabbit, he can play dead." I look and the rabbits head was flopping all over. I said "Bryant, he isn't playing dead, he is dead." I asked him what happened and he said he was throwing him in the air (doing tricks), and then he was playing dead, he had broke his neck. We both cried, and then I had to go to my friend's house for a baby shower, and I cried some more there, but my friends helped me feel better about it. Bryant feels so bad and I think he understand now about being careful with animals. What's weird is he is the last one I was worried about.
He wrote this after it happened. If you look closely you can see the sad face on the bunny.

I just talked to my Dad, he told the guy we got the rabbits from what happened and he said he probably landed on his nose. If a rabbit lands on his nose even at a short distance it will kill them instantly. So anyone who owns or wants a rabbit it is good to know how tender their noses are.
