For our primary activity we decided to do a missionary theme. We split the kids up into three different groups and asked three people to tell the kids about there missions. We gave the kids all "official" mission calls on church letter head and called them to either Taiwan, Italy or Spain. After they were done in one group we had "transfers" and sent them to the next mission.

We all met in the MTC (primary room)where Brother Redd the seminary teacher told them what to expect and how to behave on their missions, he did an excellent job. The kids were listening so well and laughing.
Bryant went to Taiwan

Then we took the traditional picture of the missionaries in front of the map pointing to their mission.
Conner was called to Spain

Then the kids went on the airplane. We had to girls be flight attendants and hand out juice and gummy treats.

So I have to tell what happened. The person who was asked to tell about Spain didn't show up (even with the reminders). We were stressed and didn't know what to do, then I remembered that for family home evening we had a lesson on missions, and showed a slide show I made of James' mission a couple years ago for Father's Day. So I told Marci I could get that to show the kids.
I ran home and luckily knew just where to find the slide show then I went to grab our portable DVD player we have for trips (we don't have a key to the library), but realize we only had a plug for the vehicle not one to plug in the wall. I ran downstairs to get some things from James' mission and as I was grabbing things I saw a plug, so I grabbed it and ran upstairs to see if it worked. I called James during all of this and he told me to be careful because the wrong plug could short it out and break it. I said we would have to just deal with it latter.
We told the kids that their mission was changed to the Honduras mission and then I showed them the souvenirs and told them what I could about it. The slide show worked, and everything went very well.
When James came home he asked me where I found the plug, I told him it was just on his desk downstairs. He informed me that it was the plug for the pocket pc which we haven't used in at least 4 years, he was so surprised that I found a plug that wouldn't hurt the DVD player, I was surprised that I was even able to find one at all.
I know Heavenly Father wanted this activity to work out for the kids, and things lined up the way they did for a reason. If we didn't have the FHE on missions I wouldn't have known right off where the slide show was (or even think to use it). We had just returned from a trip and still hadn't put up the DVD player but James is the one who knew where it was for that trip in the first place, and I really can't believe I found the plug so quickly. I am thankful for the small things that make a big difference.
